show us where you live

I so want to do this but am a few weeks behind on the tour of homes. Will put the link up and try to catch up on my own! What a great way to peek into people's lives and get some great decorating ideas too!! Check out Kelly's blog to see all the others!!

Here is a sneak peak at our playroom for the boys! John and I painted the room ourselves and the bookshelf is money well spent from pottery barn kids. The monkey prints are new and add a cute element to the room. When I saw them, I had to get them because the colors were so great!!! More pictures to come!

My best friend is an amazing photographer and this artwork was an awesome christmas gift 2 years ago! It was a total surprize and I will cherish them forever. They are the first thing you see when you walk into the playroom.

photo tips from mcmama!!!!

I LOVE reading Mcmama's blog, but I adore when she posts photography tips and then I get to play around with my camera. Jump over there to read an amazing post and then check out a few pictures below of me experimenting!!!! Today's lesson was "blurry backgrounds". These are all raw, just out of the camera with no editing, (since I haven't had time to learn photoshop yet)! I would love any critiques from the 2 or 3 of you out there!!!

I LOVE that the water droplets were caught frozen in time! The boys were very unwilling subjects, but I think not bad for them being sick this weekend and enjoying our first full fever free day! It's amazing what a 12 dollar slip-n-slide can offer for entertainment! Summer is here!
(oops, did the same pic twice, oh well.)

some favorite recent photos...

preschool graduation

UPDATE: Last night after we said our prayers before bed, Jackson called me back in and said" mom, will you pray that tomorrow will be a school day?"

My baby is no longer a baby. Okay, yes, I am in denial. He hasn't been a baby for awhile. But where did my baby go? Time really does go too fast. I didn't realize it until I became a mom. The days are flying by and I just want it to slow down. Jackson is well on his way to kindergarten and I am still wishing he was in a bouncy seat. On mother's day logan asked me to rock him. I did and loved every minute of it. I didn't start crying until he looked up at me and said, "don't worry mommy, I'll just stay little!" He read my mind and comforted me as I held my 42 pound bundle of joy in my arms. I am so blessed. I thank God for my 2 miracles every single day. They have made me so happy and bring me joy like nothing else. I revel in the smiles, the tears, the messes, the giggles, and snuggles. Jackson and Logan are precious and I am honored that God entrusted them to me and John while on this earth.

Here are a few pictures from this week's preschool graduation. Jackson is very sad that school is over for the year. He looked forward to going to class everyday. He had a great year and we look forward to what God has for both of our boys in the fall. But until then, here's to a great summer vacation!

random thoughts...

I am blessed.

Being a mom is the best job in the world.

Logan feels the need to approve or disapprove of my hair style choice on an hourly basis. Should I be worried?? Regular quote, "mom, you put your hair up, I love it!" or "mom, go fix your hair, I don't like it." He is genuinely concerned about ponytails, clips, straight, up, down, curled, or heaven forbid I just got out of the shower and it is wet! That is when I get the mom, go fix your hair, please!!! He notices everything.

I don't know what our plan is for jackson this summer. Therapy? Camps? VBS? Feeling like I need to plan but don't want to stress and worry about schedules.

Always need a note pad, can never find one. Note to self: buy note pads.

Love that my mom checks in regularly and truly cares about my plans.

I have an illness. No more room for flowers to plant so I keep thinking about where my next new flower bed could be. Buying and planting flowers makes me happy.

I am sad that Pre-K is almost over. I am even more sad that jackson does not understand that he won't see miss Noel all summer and how disappointed he is going to be when he does realize that. It has been a great year for him and I am so proud!

My Bible is dusty. It is on my bed side table, I look at it everynight and don't open it. That makes me sad.

I love the beach, the waves, the sand, the sun. It truly makes me feel closer to God when I am sitting on the beach.

I have thousands of pictures in my closet. THOUSANDS! I have every scrapbook supply I could ever need, and yet, my pictures sit in boxes on shelves. I hate that.

I am easily inspired. I am, however, frustrated at my lack of transforming inspiration to action that changes my life. ( I am hoping that signing up for and training to complete a triathalon will be my first tangible step in seeing inspiration through to change!)

I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl...just in case you were wondering or cared.

I have wasted hours of time on t.v. and the computer. Is that bad?

I should be in bed right now.

Popsickles and sprinklers are 2 of life's simple pleasures that adults should enjoy more often! I did today and it was great.

I want to be known as a smart person, but don't feel smart anymore and would like to do something about that.

Time management has never been a strength. Maybe the note pads with lists would help.

Shopping and eating are 2 things I always want to do more of but should always do less of.

I LOVE music. It can brighten your day, change your mood, make you pedal faster on a bike, inspire, motivate, teach, relax, soothe, make ya move, and it's just plain super.

I wish I could turn my brain off, enjoy quiet, be still, and just be.

Our first trip to Disney...

Wow! What an incredible week. We had the best vacation ever! The weather was perfect, the boys were great, it was awesome to have gramma and grandpa with us to share in our memories and help too! I don't think it could have been any better. My one huge concern was taking a picky eater out of his comfort zone, rearranging his schedule and expecting him to just adjust. Well, I could have saved myself a ton of anxiety because jackson did super. We did use a grocery service (thanks karena!), and had a few of jackson's staple foods delivered right to our resort for the just in case days where jackson didn't eat. That was a huge help. Jackson enjoyed his strawberry nutragrain bars and graham crackers right in our room and was comforted that some of his favorite foods were still available. The first night we were there we tried to find kids chicken nuggets because jackson loves wendy's nuggets. We found them at epcot and he tasted one and said no thanks. We were then shocked to find that he wanted the hand cut chicken breast tenders offered in the adult selection for meals at a few different places in disney! WOOHOO! Different chicken that jackson tasted and loved! The rest of the week, we just made sure that jackson was offered what he enjoyed and encouraged to try some new things, which he did and was surprised. He LOVED the Edy's hand scooped vanilla ice cream and the coke slushy. He tried but didn't care for the strawberry icee as well as some other sweets and the french fries. He ordered a mickey chocolate cake and then decided he didn't want to try it but loved the mickey suckers he picked out and enjoyed those thoroughly! Overall he did great and we all had a wonderful time! Hope you enjoy these pictures!
